Walking the Path of Daily Life March non-residential retreat with Anna Douglas and Community Dharma Leaders Lhasha Tizer and Terry Magee How do we apply the teachings of Mindfulness to our daily life? The practical wisdom of the Eightfold Path provides a roadmap. On this non-residential retreat we will use the situations and challenges of our daily lives as opportunities to apply the wisdom of the Path. This retreat is especially designed for those who have taken Lhasha and Terry’s classes in Mindfulness and/or the Four Noble Truths, and open to those who have an established practice. TCMC offers group participation in these Home Retreats at our center, and offers additional support resources for local students. No pre-registration necessary. You may pay at the door. Please NO cell phones on in the meditation room - even on vibrate. If you must speak on a cell phone during any session, please leave the building. Also, please avoid the use of perfume, cologne, scented cosmetics, heavy doses of garlic, and anything else that might create a distracting scent in the air. Monday Mindfulness Meditation Class/Practice 6:30-7:30PM The Monday evening class consists of a guided meditation suitable for beginners, followed by a brief, optional discussion. Please join us. Tuesday Strong Determination Practice 6:30 - 7:30 Wednesdays Loving Kindness Practice - 6:30-7:30 or sometimes 8:00, All Levels
On the following dates the practice will be mindfulness of music instead of loving kindness.
Feb 10, 24, Mar 10, 24, April 7, 21 - 2010 First Wednesday mindfulness practice to cultivate Loving Kindness . Second Wed: traditional Loving kindness (guided by Bruce Latta) Third Wed: Mindfulness to be with and understand the nature of difficult emotions. Loving kindness will naturally arise from practice and understanding. Fourth Wed: Compassion Practices: Silent sit, guided meditation, music, and other practices to build our capacity for compassion. (volunteers rotate guiding) Thursdays Meditation class with Upasaka Culadasa 6:00-8:30 (flexible schedule). Please see Events and Classes menu on the left for more information.
