Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation | | | This 3 hour workshop is the best way to get started in mindfulness meditation. The workshop covers: - Correct sitting posture, (chair, sitting cushion or bench)
- Meditation hall protocol
- 4 or 5 guided meditations
- Discussion

Mindfulness meditation Class/Practice | | | These classes are a great follow-up for the Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation workshop. However, the Workshop is not a prerequisite. Each session consists of a guided meditation followed by brief discussion. There is no charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. Led by Blake Ashley Monday evenings from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. You may enter the meditation hall after class has begun.
| All Day Retreats | | | Monthly Day-Long Retreats ...always held on the First Saturday of the Month The Format: -- Usual time is 8:30am to 4:30 pm, at TCMC (1231 E. Edison St.) -- For the most part, the retreats will be Peer-Led -- Retreats offer a wonderful opportunity to experience the joys of for Noble Silence -- Bring your lunch (unless we’re sharing a cooking meditation day) -- The day may involve 30-45 minute sits, walking meditation, eating meditation, chanting, Dharma talks, closing circle, singing, guided Metta, mindful movement, Q and A ... | Weekly Practice | | | Weekend Practice 25 Minute silent sits are offered on various Saturday and Sunday mornings: Please see the calendar for the current schedule. These sits are held in silence. Please enter only when the door is opened by the sit leader. There is no charge for the weekend practice, but donations are gratefully accepted. Strong Determination Practice An hour-long strong determination silent sit is offered on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30. The Strong Determination Practice is led by Frank Tomizuka. There is no charge for the Strong Determination sit, but donations are gratefully accepted. Loving Kindness Practice Wednesday: 6:30-7:30 or sometimes 8p.m. All levels.
First Wednesday mindfulness practice to cultivate Loving Kindness .
Second Wed: traditional Loving kindness (guided by Bruce Latta)
Third Wed: Mindfulness to be with and understand the nature of difficult emotions.
Loving kindness will naturally arise from practice and understanding.
Fourth Wed: Compassion Practices: Silent sit, guided meditation, music, and other practices to build our capacity for compassion. (volunteers rotate guiding)
