Parking near the Center

Because TCMC is in a residential neighborhood, please park as far from TCMC as it is possible for you to walk.  Please do not park in front of the homes in the same block as the Center. Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

 

This 3 hour workshop is the best way to get started in mindfulness meditation.  The workshop covers:

  • Correct sitting posture, (chair, sitting cushion or bench)
  • Meditation hall protocol
  • 4 or 5 guided meditations 
  • Discussion

The cost for the workshop is $20; however, nobody will be turned away for inability to pay.

Day and time vary.  Please call (520) 622-0089 for next available date and to register.

Mindfulness meditation Class/Practice

 

These classes are a great follow-up for the Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation workshop.  However, the Workshop is not a prerequisite.  Each session consists of a guided meditation followed by brief discussion.

There is no charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. 

Led by Blake Ashley
Monday evenings from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  You may enter the meditation hall after class has begun. 

 

 


  

Weekly Practice

 

Weekend Practice 

25 Minute silent sits are offered on various Saturday and Sunday mornings:

 

Please see the calendar for the current schedule. 

These sits are held in silence. Please enter only when the door is opened by the sit leader.

There is no charge for the weekend practice, but donations are gratefully accepted.  

 

Strong Determination Practice

An hour-long strong determination silent sit is offered on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30.

The Strong Determination Practice is led by Frank Tomizuka.

There is no charge for the Strong Determination sit, but donations are gratefully accepted.  

 

Loving Kindness Practice

Wednesday:  6:30-7:30 or sometimes 8p.m.     All levels.
On the following dates the practice will be mindfulness of music instead of loving kindness.
Feb 10, 24, Mar 10, 24, April 7, 21 - 2010
First Wednesday mindfulness practice to cultivate Loving Kindness .

Second Wed: traditional Loving kindness.

Third Wed: Mindfulness to be with and understand the nature of difficult emotions.               

Loving kindness will naturally arise from practice and understanding.

Fourth Wed: Compassion Practices:  Silent sit, guided meditation, music, and other practices to build our capacity for compassion.  (volunteers rotate guiding)

Thursday Night from 6:00 - 8:30 

6:00 - 6:30 - Optional Q&A session

6:30 - 7:15  - Silent Meditation

7:15 - 7:30 - Break

7:30 - 8:30 - Dharma talk and opportunity for questions

Attend all or parts of the class

Friday Morning Sits

7:30 A.M. - Sit Lead by Upasaka Culadasa

8:30 A.M. - Sit Lead by Upasaka Culadasa

9:30 A.M. - Sit Lead by Upasaka Culadasa 

Each sit is 45 minutes long followed by a 15 minute walking meditation or an opportunity to ask the teacher meditation questions.
